Let’s win $25K for Waterkeeper!

Living Philanthropic’s featured charity for May is the Waterkeeper Alliance. Waterkeeper Alliance helps communities stand up for clean water and believe that clean water is a basic human right for everyone. 

To celebrate Earth Day, Groupon is giving $25K to the green charity that raises the most funds on Crowdrise. I would love to be able to get this needed support for Waterkeeper. Day 340: Dreams For Kids

Dreams and aspirations open up an entire realm of possibilities, having a dream and being able to pursue it has been a blessing. Nearly one ago, I dreamed that I could give to charity everyday for a year, in 25 days that dream becomes a reality. When I was in high school, I dreamed that I would have a career as a professional actor, next week is the opening night of my first equity production. I feel so blessed to be able to have the possibility to pursue my dreams, and I am not done yet. When I was younger, you would have considered me an at-risk youth, living below the poverty line and associating myself with bad influences, my catalyst for change was discovering theater in high school as a creative outlet. Today, I have turned that discovery into a profession. I believe all kids deserve they same opportunities that I had, so I am donating today to Dreams For Kids.

Dreams For Kids is a volunteer based children’s charity that breaks down social barriers and end the isolation of at-risk youth.

Dreams For Kids is empowering youth who live in poverty and those with disabilities, by uniting them with their peers, recognizing their abilities, and allowing their voices to be heard.  The most isolated young people from every community are reminded they have something to give, and they are the solution- not the problem.

Dreams For Kids’ mission is to empower young people of all abilities through dynamic leadership programs and life-changing activities that inspire them to fearlessly pursue their dreams and compassionately change the world.
