Day 272: America SCORES Chicago
There are many underserved communities in Chicago, communities filled with bright young minds loaded with potential. Supporting organizations that are working to help these young minds reach their full potential and become positive influences in their communities is vital to the future of our city. America SCORES Chicago is doing just that with students on Chicago’s west side and that is why I am showing them my support.
America SCORES Chicago strives to empower students in urban communities using soccer, writing, creative expression, and service-learning. With teamwork as the unifying value, America SCORES Chicago inspires youth to lead healthy lifestyles, be engaged students, and become agents of change in their communities. America SCORES Chicago combines soccer, poetry and service-learning to combat obesity, illiteracy and poor decision-making on the City’s West side.
